Door switch

So at least once a week my door ajar light lights up when all my doors are shut... I did some searches on the matter but didn't really find what I was lookin for..
How easy is it to pop the rivets and clean the switch? Would it be beneficial or should I jus go buy a new switch from ford?

Thanks for the help.
Chris

Don't buy a new one....just spray with WD40. Liberally! Open - Close door a number of times. The light should go out. Do the other doors too to prevent the problem from spreading.

Yes, and liberally lube / grease it after it starts working.. with dielectric grease.

My truck did this for about a year, the WD40 did not work. Ended up being a wire that had rubbed a hole in the insulation and was shorting out against the metal in the door.

Mine was the passenger side rear door and it was a wire near the hinge or front of the door. You have to remove the door panel to see them.
