Glow Plug Purchase

Ok Guys I think it is time to purchase some glow plugs, where is a good place to purchase them? I called Advanced Auto and Napa and they both only have Autolites, so I need a place on the web to get them. Local Dealer wants $25 a piece.

Good Deal I will check them this weekend and order what I need. Do you suggest replacing them all at once or just the ones that ohm out?

If it were me I would do them all as it is a bit of a job getting to them, I have 8 of them in my tool box along with the Stancor glow plug relay for a project to do soon. That's my thinking anyway.

If it were me, I'd do them all since you got your tools out and your hands are dirty.

Depends on your time and money..

I had two dead ones. One on each side. So i did them all.. But if i had a dead one on one side i would have only did that entire side. If the other side was ok I wouldn't change them. But would buy them for encase i ever happen to pull that other side cover.

But Another way to look at it.. If you want to replace them all for just the Say So.. It would be a good time to do the 50cent Mod and retorgue Rocker Peds and Injectors... This way everything will be done (up to date) and finish it up with the Stancor GPR..

When i did mine I did the GP's. 50cent mod, Installed the stancor GPR, Foil delete, HPX. CCK. #8 Injector and installed the 6637 all in the same Rainy day

You would loosen first if you suspect that the bolt is tighter than the torque wrench is set for. I busted my my local tire place for this.. He was using a 3/4" monster Impact to put on my Aluminum rims.. Then checking torque 150foot pounds.. Click.. Good.. Click Good.. I walk up and asked, how does he know it isn't 250ft pounds with that HUGE gun.. I am checking with a torque wrench... lol . I got the manager to check them.. They were way to tight and he made the Guy redo them properly.. And i got a note stating if i have any issues with cracking rims he will cover them.. And took it back a week later for a rim inspection. It was on my Ford Explorer..

anyway ran off there.. I didn't loosen when i did mine.. I found one Injector loose on my passenger side. Good quarter to half turn.. Found one injector on each side on my dads..

Just set you wrench and fly.. Click,Click.. Next Click,Click,.. Next, Click,Click.. Next, wooo.. Click, Click.. Wow, That one was loose. Glad i did this. lol..

OK I just checked them with a Blue point multimeter and they where all .6 so I am assuming they are good. What else would be causing it to start hard and then bellow white smoke after it does start?

I heard Autolite's may swell in the hole causing them to get stuck. And if you pull them out they could snap off.

.6 is good.. Have you check your GPR to make sure it was working?

The GPR is new last fall(Napa-109). I believe it is working, I did the GPR light mod(?) with a little light on the dash. Any other suggestions to check?
