Well I put a Ficm off a wrecked truck today on the one I been working on and it started and ran ok intill I reved it up to about 2000 rpm then its like it lost its power and then idled rough again and finally died. Started it again and let it idle samething.
The Ficm_m_pwr stays 47.0-47.5 all the time.
The Ficm_L_pwr 14.0
I notice the battery light came on and flickered as it was running.
The only code im getting now is p0283 cyl 8 high voltage.
Any thoughts
According to the manual the battery light means the altenator is not charging properly, so your altenator could be on the road to it's demise, as far as the code i have no idea.
Well today I put another injector wiring harness on still came up with code p0283. So I changed the injector and the code went away. With no codes I started it up and it actually ran decent for about 3 mins reved up fine still had a rough idle though then it died again. Starting it back up took a little longer and when it started it rolled the smoke out (white unburned fuel) and end up dieing again.
Then I got the code cyl 7 contribution/fault. Cleared it and then Same code but with cyl one.
Also Im getting a code for each cyl for glow plug circuit.
Any ideas of whats going on or what I need to check next.
I have the same problem with occasional battery light flickering --- especially if I discharge the battery (by using my 2000W (120 out) laptop power supply) for a few hours on battery.
The flicker also comes from very cold conditions.
So far, I managed to get it to go away by charging the battery.
