Has anyone built a frame to pull engines? I dont have a concrete slab to work with but Im wondering how high and what size materials to use. If anyone has a few pics that would be appreciated.
This is what works for me. lol
The bad thing is I need to swap the motor in my wrecker and my son has my lift in houston. I pulled the motor I;m going to use with the wrecker, but can't figgure out how to get it to pull its own motor. lol
That is the one I contacted you about, but when I tore it down it wasn't in as good of shape as I had hoped for. I still got what I wanted it for, Which was mainly the ZF5 and the rockers and pump and injectors.
Oh,I wont come swipe it then!!! If I wind up pulling this one I may hire a wrecker, all my so called friends I used to work with land clearing and site work and such wont hardly speak after I had to retire and a loader would work perfect! But ill figure out somthin!!
I don't think it would be cheaper than buying one from harbor freight. Mine is a two ton hoist and it was only 175 on sale. I guess if you have all the material then go for it but it might not save much.
a good stout shade tree (stick to the ral hardwoods like oak and maple) and a chain hoist. myself I got scared with my two ton harbor frieght hoist and cut the radiator support so I didn't have to lift it so high then I rolled the truck back instead of trying to move the hoist on gravel with all that weight on it
Mine worked like a champ and rolled perfectly fine. I hoisted my engine up over the bed of the truck because my driveway is shaped funny and it was the only way to get a good angle on it. Just have to have your wood screws in and you will be fine.
I would go get one but I has no concretes to put it on,I live in the sticks where we have lots of dirt!Only one big oak tree but not big enough.Im still not positive its got to come out,I just want to have a plan if I have to.
Thanks,Thats way south of me,Ive been talking to Professer Starmilt, there is an outside possibility I may be able to get mine going again,Just going to take time, funding is scarce right now to go very big all at once,at least I have my little put-put to drag my boat to the river a couple times a week.
Thats right! I have 4 different rivers within 10 minuits of the house so somtimes I spend more time making up my mind which one to go to than time to get there!!
