Appreciate the 'headsup', I will to put the info on my 65 parts tune up list! Had to replace entire rear brake assembly, including drums and found the local NAPA store was able to get everything needed in less than 24 hours and did not have to pay for shipping. Same with upgrading the 65's to Duraspark ll electronic ign. Sugggest anyone looking to purchase Ford parts, if the dealership does not have the item then check with local Napa store, imagine most local part suppliers can get the item but IMOP, Napa seems to have better quality. Thanks again for the info.
Needed one ASAP and found the correct 3 conductor style at NAPA for $22.79. NAPA part # KS6487.
The original 3 terminal ignition switch used on 1961/66 F100/1100's was C3AZ11572A (replaced COAF11572A) Motorcraft SW353
This C3AZ switch was also used on: 1960/64 Galaxie/Custom / 1960/65 Falcon/Comet / 1961/64 Thunderbird / 1961/66 ALL other trucks & Econoline / 1962/65 Fairlane / 1965/66 Mustang / 1966 Bronco.
In 1967, Ford replaced C3AZ11572A with C7UZ11572A (Motorcraft SW583) which has 4 terminals.
suppose you aquired a 65` f-100 that hasn't ran in the last 6 or 7 years !! Where do you begin the process of getting it to turn over with out doing some internal damage?
good find when i ordered my ign. switch at orellys i got the Borg Warner CS52 which is the 4 prong. I returned it and put a universal switch for the meantime, but now you helped me find the correct part number. thanks.
