Cool Transport Nightmare!

Ok I won't even go into all the problems I have had getting my truck transported to me. He was hopefully the last bit of drama.

Last night the transport guy goes to pick my truck up. The battery was dead, so my buddy offered to jump start it for the guy. The transport guy decides he will just hook up a battery he has to the truck. Well he hooked up the battery backwards. This caused sparking and the truck started smoking. It wont start now.

The transport guy insistes its an easy fix. He thinks the battery cables got fried along with the starter solenoid. This would be great, because thats cheap to fix, but do i want to take the advice of someone that can't even hook up a battery right? No.

What do you guys think? Is it that easy of a fix, or could he have fried alot more things?

I would start with replacing the battery cables, starter solenoid, and battery and go from there. I would also make sure to pimp slap that dude for hooking up the battery wrong. That takes some skill. Sorry man but it will work out.

Inspect all the wiring before you even put a battery back in it. If it was smoking, there's a melted wire somewhere, and it could potentially short out and cause a fire with power to it again.

I'd file a claim on him, and let him or his insurance pay for the repairs. He is liable.

Then you bitch slap his sorry ***.

Yeah I told him you need to take some money off the transport...he says he will fix it. I don't want him working on my truck. Just cut the money off the transport. He told me not to worry about the truck will be running when I get it. Its hard when your 2k miles away. Pisses me off.

Montana to FL...real bad route. I have been trying to get it moved for months. This company finally agreed to go up and get it within 2 hours for 1k. Its 2400 miles. I dont think the price is bad, but if they ****ed my truck up, i'm going to be pissed hopefully its minor.

had the same prob told me VT to WV was a bad route an finally got someone to go get it. It took almost a month to find someone the guy who delivered it did just fine with it. But it was a headache from hell getting it here cause I never bought something like this before. What kind of truck is it?

sounds like the transport guy is a total idiot, plus the way the discussion went over the phone he is an arrogant idiot, which is way worse. hopefully your truck will be okay. i hate when people touch mine for any reason, any sort of shop or person that needs to drive it or move it for any reason i loathe.

Yeah he tried to blame it on my buddy, but we nipped that. Then he admitting what he did. I don't think its a big fix, just admit your mistake and take a little off the transport. I'll work on my own truck. Suppose to get it on Saturday and he insists its not a problem and it will be running when it gets here. If I wasnt so desperate to get the truck I probably would have used a different company, but I have been trying to get this truck here since November. Never buy a truck in Montana unless your going to get it yourself.
