Ok, about nine thousand miles ago I did head studs, injectors and EGR delete.(https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ml#post8275067) Everything was fine tell the weather started getting warmer, now it's puking out the degas bottle. I thought it was the oil cooler so I changed that last night. That didn't fix it.
I did some monitring with the SCT and it doesn't seem to puke tell the coolent temp gets to about 200*. I tested the coolent for exaust gas and it came back positive. Now look at the pic's below and tell me if the injector sleeve second from the left could be bad.
These pic's are from when I did studs!
You see how the one spot on the head looks cleaner then the rest? Like it's been steam cleaned!
These are the injectors out of that head.
Now, I think that it is a bad injector sleeve. What do you think?
buckman, very cool pics...looks like you've been very busy. Have you checked your T-stat....could be something that simple. Although 200*F isn't really hot yet, so hmmm. Do you think there may be blockage somewhere? I see you're running a CAI, but don't see what you've done to open up the exhaust...what are your EGT's looking like?
I'm running 4" exhaust. I don't have a pyro yet. I have exhaust gas in my degas bottle, so somthing other than the T-stat is wrong. What do you thnk about the injector sleeve?
Oh yeah...without a doubt, there is something clearly going on with that cylinder. I just can't think of how or why it would cause the puking ....at least nothing comes to mind.
Very interesting. I too am curious to hear how this works out for you. Thought I might try to retorque ARP studs as a quick effort to fix similar problem (post recent EGR/oil cooler replacement). Am puking vapors with little coolant loss. However, your theory is a new one I had not heard of yet. Please keep us informed.

the firering rings look to be breached in 3 spots. If you had an injector cup out you would have fuel in coolant. if you had a leak on the exhaust side exhaust pressure is greater then fuel pressure so once again thinnk about that too.
the discoloration on the injector can be from exhaust gas or any number of other things. think about this fuel pressure is 50+ psi, cooling system pressure is 12-16 (normal unbroke engine) what way is what gonna flow.
did you test cooling system pressure before tear down?
what is ect/eot
hows the fan? working? you sure?
is the water pump pully still have all its paint or is it all shiny were the belt rides?
how high were you filling the bottle?
how low was the bottle getting before it stoped pumping up?

No I didn't test the cooling system.
The ECT hasn't got over 220(runs aroud 200 most of the time) I can here the fan kick on when it get over 210.
I don't know the EOT.
I don't know about the pully.
Filling the bottle to the min. line.
I don't understand your last question.
the last question is did you try and let the coolant seek its own happy level?
if the fan pully is shiny odds are the belt is slipping.
what tune are you running while towing, also what tune are you using for dd.
what were the ppm counts do you know.
if you used just the chemical test, they tend to not work all that well with this app. if they did ford would have us using them and not a pvt.
but in my first post you will note looks like firerings were breeched on 3 cyclinders, one spot on each one. if im see the pics right that is how, the question is why did you have a 2nd failer not so much how. also not to sound mean but was it really diaged correctly? puking can come from many things. from caps to heads to fan,t-stat, radiator issues.
I see you put a new cap on but did you varify the new cap was good. I have gotten bad new ones before.
whats you max boost?
sorry seems like I have more questions then awnsers tonight.
