I'd check junkyards first. You might be able to find something really cheap, like a couple dollars.
You could also see if your local auto parts stores carry replacement shift *****, or you could just find out what thread pitch and type your shifter has, and get an aftermarket ****. Finally, if all else fails, check with your local Ford dealership. But don't be surprised if the dealer quotes you a high price. Mine wanted $50 for a manual window handle....
thanks for the info guys! i saw the LMC add. unfortunately they don't have one with the shift pattern listed for my year and the junk yards are always missing the ****. I think I will try a junk yard in a smaller town or the LMC without the shift pattern.
