According to my friend he is an extremly **** person when it comes to his vehicles. It looks as if the vehicle is on the showroom floor. Has been garaged for its entire life. The kicker of the whole thing is it has 22,000 miles on it. And no I didnt miss a 1 at the beginning. Also comes with a never used 9' stainless steel fisher plow.
He is asking $20,000 but i hear he will take $17,000.
Well a low mileage 7.3 is a killer deal any day. However, I would get it checked out nicely and run a car fax to ensure the miles are real. And since there are so many mods on the truck, make sure it runs good and not all ragged out. Good luck.
It sounds like a really good deal and I know there are many out there who swear by the 7.3. That being said, it's still a 10 year old truck no matter how you slice it and a quick check of KBB or Edmunds would not be out of order to get an idea of market value.
Please don't take offense at this, but it kind of sounds like this guy is more of an aquaintance than a friend. If you already knew him that well you'd know for sure that he's **** about his vehicles from direct experience.
... sounds like this guy is more of an aquaintance than a friend.
I know, I missed it the first time too.
There are guys who would kill to find a 7.3 with so few miles. But the questions for you are, do you need a diesel, do you want an older truck, will you like the older interior, suspension, etc? In many ways you are going backwards and paying a lot of money to do it. If you NEED a diesel to pull and haul it might be a good move. If you don't, then what's the point? It's not like a 7.3 is some kind of trophy.
