ENGINE IS OUT!

I finally got it out this evening, the tractor wouldnt pick it up its too heavy for the old massey, so i drug it up under the maple tree and used the come=a=long and it come out then, so maybe by next week i will have the truck back to running with an 83 model 6.9 with around 40,000 on its rebuild, but its been setting for some years so it probly wont run good to start with but as long as it gets me from point A to point B i will be good,Does anyone have any advice for me to make it easier? And also what should i do to the other engine while its out before i put it in? And what do i got to do to convert a auto engine to a manual?

When you have everything on it, use 1200 pounds for the weight.

Using an engine hoist, get the biggest thing you can find, 1200 pounds high enough to clear the radiator support is scary.

I cut and scbbed the upper section of the radiator support so now the highest thing I have to lift it off if the moter needs to come out again is the bumper

If the motor has been sitting for several years, I would be changing every rubber seal and gasket it has.

You guys missed the dead motor post? It was on april 1st so nobody believed him.

So the 15 ton excavator with a lifting capacity around 4-5 tons should suffice?

Anyone looking for practice, I have 2 to pull, and one to install here this summer by the looks of things.

Yes happened april 1ST wasnt reeming on it it was running good besides my air leak problem i had, when it blew it was taching around 1500 rpm, i think i finally found out why it died, my buddy sprayed some either in no telling how much, and then i sprayed some in not knowing he had already so, it tryed hydrolocking but didnt have any choice but to sling rods and ruin a block, so as of now, high RPM dont kill
