Where are the best places to get parts for a 74 f250. Obviously LMC but I want to get everyones opinion. I am really wanting to get a bunch of different catalogs so I can price shop and see what all is out there and available for my truck. I have already ordered a LMC and a Mar-K catalog. Any other suggestions? I want pretty much any catolog I can get my hands on! Makes for good reading on the throne.
I confess I haven't ordered from them yet, but I am going to give Bronco Graveyard a good sized order.
My impression is that their prices are generally better than others. I called them a couple of weeks ago and they were very helpful.
I recently did a K5 Blazer project and wasn't overly impressed with LMC. On many occasions I found I could buy oem parts cheaper through my local Chevrolet dealership than through LMC. The parts would arrive sooner, no shipping charges (though I did have to pay sales tax) and the customer service/help from the dealer was outstanding.
Jeff's Bronco Graveyard is excellent. They are a sponsor of this site (lmc is not), Bronco Graveyard has great customer service, and even puts on a free swap meet and bronco/truck show every year at which they give away lots of free stuff. I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of parts from them over the last few years and no problems yet.
DC = Dennis Carpenter Reproductions. The firm has alot of FoMoCo's dies used to make parts for our dents.
Catalogs.. a great wealth of information. The exploded drawings help a ton to see what parts you have, what you may need, or are missing. For example, I needed the passenger's side fresh air vent that bolts onto the housing. Saw that it wasn't reproduced but I got really lucky at the bone yard. Serendipity!
