alright so a buddy of mine works at a junkyard and he found an old 51 *****'s 4x4 pickup that he's got the option to buy for real cheap. it is on one of the yards older lots. he said he looked all over the truck and he couldn't find the vin tag. my dad told me to tell him to check on the fire wall, but i wanted to get a few more opinions before i called him with an answer. the junkyard has quite a few 51 *****'s titles in a file cabinent, so he needs the vin# to be sure he grabs the right title. any help would be appreciated.

 

Check the door and door jamb as well. Don't know absolute on ******, but the Stude I had to get a title for had it there, and of course many Ford trucks had it on the driver's door.

 

also look on the inside of the glove box door. that is where the VIN plate was located on most of the late 40's and early 50's cars.

 

thanks. i'll tell him about the glovebox door. he checked the door jambs, not there. if any body has any more suggestions feel free to throw them out there

 

Don't forget to look at the front door jamb by the hinges...

 

Standard on ****** Jeeps was high on the firewall, just under a corner of the hood. Not sure if this was true that far back though.
