engine surge

today will pulling 9000lbs from a stop up a hill when i get to 2500rpms the motor losses power then surges and the rpm jumps around form 2400rpms to 2700rmps? and some times the rmps will jump even will stopped, and with it worm. no codes with a sc 1705. is there a sensor that i need to look at or just the way it is? this is the most that i have pulled with the truck and my brothers dose not some to do this?

read some other treads don think it is the TPS. no problems only under load and at 2500rmps, not jumping.

Have you done the in tank mods? Worth doing even if it is not the problem.

have not done on the list, it sounds like it does not have oil pressure i think i will clean the IPR.

Let us know how it turns out. That was a second guess as well. Probably need to monitor the pressure to be sure.

i think i found the problem, i changed my steering gear 3 weeks ago and have not driven much, found leak on the lines Monday. i fixed the leak but remembered that i removed the IC pipe, and yes it was not seated good so i think i had a boost leak, that could causes sugering at high rpms? i have not cleaned the IRP but will soon.

I maybe wrong but if the IC pipe was not on you would have no boost and i dont think it could surge like that,could be a fuel problem.

the ic pipe was not on all the way it was pushed out about halve way, so i think i got boost on the low end then it leaked on the high end, but will look at the fuel and IRP when time permits. also i drove some and it respond better now so i think that was it but will look on. thanks for the help.

How is this done? I have my HPOP out and the IPR out but I don't really know what I am looking for. Their seems to be a print assembly inside but It won't come out. I can push it down and don't feel any binding. The trouble I have is that my HPOP pressure goes from 500 to 4k in about 1.5 seconds after the truck starts.
