Rough idle

My bronco is a 90 model, with a 5.8 fuel injection. The engine seems to idle fine and pretty smooth until I stop at a red light then it idles up and down up and down. You can put it in nuetral and it idles fine. When you take off it acts as if it spits and sputters then it opens back up and takes off then it goes back to the same thing. It is almost like it is not firing on all cylinders and then it will, but for the most part it seems like it is running on about 6 cylinders.I changed the fuel pump, but not filter, nor have I done a tune up.Other than the standard tune up is there a sensor or something like that ,that might cause it to do that?Im pretty sure it is nothing mechanical,I'm thinking a idle air control valve or something of that nature.I'm gonna tune it up this weekend to see if that helps.Just want to here some input as to what ya'll think.Maybe something in a service bulletin or something!

Run a KOEO and KOER test with the engine at normal operating temperature and see what codes come up. And yes, it is possible to have fault codes even without the "check engine" light coming on. If you need more info on how to administer these two tests check HERE.
