Installing heated seats ?

My sister has ordered a new 2010 4X4 XLT with cloth seats and would like to have heated seats installed. I was going to do this job and has anyone done this and what brand to get and any problems in doing this install in a new 150? I would apprecate any comments on this topic. I know you can get them in the Lariat package but she wanted the 4.6 rather than the 5.4 the way the packages are she could not get them factory installed.

not sure if you mean the actual factory heated seats, but you can install aftermarket heated seat kits in just about anything, including cloth seats too...

IMO, tell your sis just to go with the Lariat. Im never quite sure why someone would want to go through the hassle of installing or finding someone to install something like heated seats. Its just better to get it from the factory. By the time you go through the headache of paying and installing, it may just have been more worth it to get the better truck. The Lariat is a nice ride, and the 5.4 is a better investment then the 4.6 (from what Im told, Ive never had the 4.6, only the 5.4)

Many times in the Ranger forum, I had seen people post threads about changing a 4X2 truck into a 4X4 and by the time you had invested the time and money, you couldve had a truck already equipped for less of an ordeal.

Iron Mountain is awesome, BTW

I looked in too installing heated seats in my last truck and with me doing the work it would be about 300 bucks for a cheap set, and having to take the covers off seats is a pain in the butt

But if that's what you want it can be done, but you don't already own the truck I would look for one with everthing you want
