Long side axle shaft

Does anyone know the length of the long side shaft? I am having to narrow a D44 for a project, and it would be nice to not have a custom shaft made.

Are you narowing a eb or a full width 44? I've got a set of spare eb 44 axle shafts I used to carry with me in case of breakage. I can measure one if that is what you are looking for. The long side inner, right?

I'm actually narrowing a Wagoneer D44, but the inner splines and ujoint are the same. If you could measure that one for me, it would be much appreciated.

Got it. From the end of the axle to the bottom of the knuckle part with the ears is 26". Or from the end to the top most part of the ears is 28 3/4". HTH

Not sure what you mean- The dimension I'm looking for is "D" in this diagram:

Neither of my measurements are what you want. I will have to check again tomorrow when I am at the garage. They measure from the end to the middle of the ujoint.
