2002 Exp. front upper control arm replacement

So I'm getting ready to do some suspension work during my week off. Gonna replace struts on all 4 corners, fix a toe link on the left rear, new left front tie rod end and new upper control arms on both sides up front. I ordered some new Moog control arms with ball joints installed. As I began looking closer at my truck I see that to remove the arms you detach them with two bolts on what I will call a "control arm carrier" for lack of finding an official name. It looks like I will need to reuse this "carrier" as the moog arms don't have this, they look like an open "V". The origional looks like it has the "carrier" captured between the bushings on the existing control arm. Once I remove it is there enough room to slide the "carrier" one direction to get the other end free and reinstall it on my new control arms. Do I have a part that is incompatible. All the available control arms that came up for this model and year were the open "V" with the exception of one made by Doorman that looks like it has the carrier installed. Thanks for any help.
