99 Expedition running rough
Hi, New to this forum
Just bought a 99 Expedition 4.6. I'm having a problem with it. It was running rough and throwing the code for a #4 cylinder misfire. Had a friend of mine with much smaller hands than mine change the plugs. Ran smooth for 100 miles. Now it's running rough again. it was running fine then it sat for 3 days and problem is back.
When he changed plugs he told me that the #4 plug was coated with a tarry oilt substance. Do I have a valve cover gasket leak or is this caused by the misfire?
Looking at changeing coil packs next but don't want to if cylinder will keep getting gooped up.
