Hello again, seems I'm back with another problem. Was coming home from gatting a sticker on my sons Bronco II (1988...2.9...A4LD...)and hit a bump in the road and it dies. The engine turns over, all lights and radio work, but it wont start.Check for fuel at scharder valve on fuel rail nothing...no whiirr from pumps eather. So I tow it home and start looking at fuel system, inertia switch etc. After a day of nothing I ran a wire from the battery positive to the red/green wire on the coil and hit the switch...fired right up and runs like a champ but my alt light stays on...I'm going now to check all the wiring conections etc.ignition switch?Any other ideas?.. thanks for all your help.
They oxidize or just plain wear out from heat over the years. Enough vibration can break enough strands to lower the rating. Many times just fixing the link fixes the problem, though I put it in on insulated connectors and keep a spare ready to go in the glove box.

Yeah I thought maybe it was due to age because the wiring on the old girl hasn't faired to well.Seems the insulation has pulled or fell off at most of the connectors so its time to pull a little wire repair
I have gone through the same things on Ford and Chevy (Chevy is worse since it is under the vehicle on the starter and no slack in the harness) and fixed it just by replacing the links and wiring with new.
