What is the stock height of a 2003 f250 xlt? It looks lIke
the front of my truck is slightly higher than the back. I know the guy I bought it from had a plow on it... Do people raise the front for extra clearence for the plow?
Thanks
chris
Well i just bought an 05 250 5.4 and it has the snow plow prep group on it but never has had a plow on it and the front end does sit a little bit higher then the back end.I beleive part of the package is heavier duty front springs for the plow that is why it sits up higher in the front end.So if your's came with it that is why or the guy put heavier front springs on it.
"Stock height" is kind of a myth. There isn't one height that all of the trucks are supposed to be. The stance of your truck depends on what springs, packages and GVWR you have.
You have the snow plow package, which will make the front ride a little higher when unloaded.
To level it, look into installing F-350 blocks on the rear.
Look at your certification label located on the driver's door pillar. If you have the factory snow plow package the spring code (which is usually 2 letters) will start with an "X". If it's anything else, then the truck did not come from the factory with the plow package, but the previous owner might have installed the "X" code springs like I did. On the bottom of the front spring, there is a number stamped in the steel--If it ends in "AFA" then you have the "X" code plow springs.

How much taller are the F-350 blocks? My truck sits a hair higher in the front also.
I heard somewhere that they are a .25" taller. I may be wrong though
The F-350 blocks are about 2" taller than the F-250 blocks. Some are tapered, some are straight. You have to take a good look at yours and determine which ones you have and get the same thing in a 350 style. You will also need longer U-bolts.

They are a nominal 2 inches. I think actually closer to 1.75 inches, but close enough to 2 inches.
Like Rongold said, there are straight and tapered blocks. Long wheelbase trucks used tapered blocks. Short wheelbase trucks used straight blocks. The taper is very minimal, you really can't tell my just eyeballing them which blocks you have,
Does anybody know what the actual height of the stock F250 rear blocks is? I bought the truck used and the back sits quite a bit higher than the front. I want to see if the previous owner put the F350 blocks in or if the ones I have are stock. I'd also be interested in buying a set of stock ones if the ones I have are the F350 blocks.

If u find out they are f350 blocks I'll take them off ur hands for my 250 blocks.
That might work, but I still don't know how to tell without measurements. Can you measure your blocks and let me know how tall they are? Everybody has the difference in height listed, but I haven't found the actual dimensions of the blocks yet. I'd rather lower the rear of my truck than lift the front if all I need to do is swap the blocks out.
F-250 blocks are roughly 2 inches. F-350 blocks are roughly 4 inches.
I say roughly because the long wheelbase blocks are tapered slightly for pinion angle adjustment. Shorter wheelbase trucks don't have this taper.
If you want to install the larger F-350 blocks, contact Ed, FTEPARTSGUY on this forum. He will let you know which blocks are correct for your truck and make sure you get everything else you need (like the proper U-bolts).
