Wow! Very nice Truck! You certainly are one lucky guy! Thanks for the video of a survivor anyone would be proud to have. Could you give us the back story as to how long you were looking & what lead you to this rare jewel?

does anyone know why some trucks had the wide tire and some didn't or was it just at some point the wide tires were replaced with narrow ones.

Here is a quick drive in the F-350: (I switched Gloveboxes, so the Glovebox door says Ranger, instead of Ranger-XLT)

I am constantly looking at all different types of cars and trucks as I love vehicles from the 70's. Ive owned a variety of cars and trucks and when I found this 74, I also had a 72 and had just sold my 90 F250. I'm also a nut for RV's, campers, and trailers from the 70's and own a few that I've restored. I just happened to be doing my usual daily/nightly craigslist search across the country when I found the 74. I knew immediately that it was a jewel and was my "dream" truck and it all worked out. I have vowed to never sell this truck....but I've said that before.

Thanks for the compliment. Part of the lure of this SCS was the fact that it also had the optional camper tiedown package from Ford. When I went to look at the truck, I asked how the grandfather tied the camper down and they described the big chrome anchors. When asked if they still had them, they advised that they were in the shed and proceeded to show them to me. They threw them in as part of the deal as I had to have them. I was so pumped about getting the anchors as I have to assume that there are few in existence. Most have been lost or broken or scrapped. There are 3 parts to the tiedown system 1) the brackets that are mounted to the truck which hold the anchors(as seen in the video) 2) The anchors that are bolted to the truck frame( not seen in my video as I removed them to paint them) and 3) the big chrome spring loaded anchor. Just by coincidence, I saw a complete NOS set on Ebay just a week ago. Unbelievable! I was planning on bidding on them but missed the deadline.

It's my understanding that the higher GVWR SCS (9300 and 10K) came with the "super singles" (12,0x16.5) on the rears as that is the only way that the truck could have that high of a payload rating. The front tires were the 9.50x16.5. Otherwise it came with a smaller tire. I'm not 100% sure on this but it's my conclusion after looking at the variety of Ford truck and recreational vehicle brochures that Anthony posted.

Thanks Rat77 for the link. I checked it out and it is an awesome website! I wish I could afford to attend the detail bootcamp in Florida but the cost is 450 for the class which is way out of my budget. They offer several online videos that are affordable and I might check those out. I used to detail cars, over 30 years ago (detailed cars and also bought and sold cars) to put myself through college but I've lost some of that touch over the years, plus it seems like it's a whole lot more hard work than I remember..it's a bit&* getting old!
