Fluid Temps

Just wondering what are acceptable temps when towing. my oil went to 200+.... same with trans. egt spikes (hills) stayed under 1250. I babied the 7.3 on the way home till I figure this out. There were times that I was climbing hills droping below the speed limit and I know the 7.3 should/will handle things but I need peace of mind first. So how hot is too hot with oil and trans fluids??

If you have not already might want to Post this on the 7.3L section.
Make sure you give as much information about any mods you have done too.

Tranny temps

I was told with the tranny that you can run it all day under 225 degree. 225-250 is ok for a short while and 250+ means pull over and let it cool.
Not sure about the oil but I would think it would be similiar.

Yes, that's correct.
