Oil drain plug

Would anybody know the CORRECT torque specs. on the oil drain plug. My manual says 11 ft/lbs but that feels rather light? I saw a thread that said 28 ft/lbs but that seems too high? Any thoughts Thanks

Honestly, I never put a torque wrench to my drain plug. It's always been a "snug up" feel for me. 28 ft/lbs seems way too much to me too. Now saying this, I swapped to the Fumoto style drain plug so no removing it now for me.

I always tighten it down by hand until it feels right.
But if you want to put a spec to it, try 18 ft lb.

I would guess he is 42.
I just changed to Fumoto as well.
Then first time I changed oil on my PS at about 200k -I had to use 18" wrench extension to loosen the plug.
And I am pretty strong man.

Just changed my oil yesterday, and flipped the washer over again. I bought a pack of 3 at AutoZoo for a few $$$ and have been reusing the first one for some time now. LOL

And I also just snug mine up so it feels right. Did my wife's truck too. Hers succeeded in really pizzing me off. Oil drain pours right on a X-member which has a skid plate attached. Oil every-friggin'-where. Same with the oil filter. It mounts at about a 45 deg angle, and has a little spout/chute thing under it. Of course, it drips all over. Then I stuck my fast-draining funnel in the fill tube and overflowed the fill tube. More oil on the damn garage floor... LOL I guess I've been spoiled at how easy oil changes are on the PSD.

The mess this I made with my wife's truck has me convinced to get one for it. Not worried about mine so much.

Picked up a pack at autozone while i was there. Getting ready for my next change.. I just pop on a new one every change. Don't want it dripping because of how expensive it is to do the oil change. That oil is like GOLD. Liquid gold.
