Good afternoon guys. (It's afternoon here anyways.)
Another aggrivating day. Got to talk to my XO today, didn't get much help with my problem.
Basically turned in a paper to be signed last week, need to turn it in today, was told today that I won't get it back till next week. And I've been hounding everyone about it every day since I turned it in. Oh joy...
thats the militarys hurry up and wait system at its finest. and happy b-day usmc.
the army is the same way. i was talking to my son in irack and he's still waiting for orders. he's in baghdad, irack.
Try working with the VA. They make the military look absolutely fast........
One of my buddys from my old unit had massive problems from Agent Orange, and got screwed around by VA for 15 YEARS! He finally got a finding of complete disability and they were supposed to pay him back all the money they SHOULD have been paying him all along. He was notified they would be sending him a check for $380,000 for back pay and the money he spent for doctors. Guess what happened? Yep, he DIED before the check came! Then they refused to give the money to his wife and kids.......Case closed...
Damn! Your almost an "old fart" like me! I turn 62 next Monday........Now I get to start collecting checks from the Government instead of sending them one!
Was born on "Armistice Day" (was changed to Veterans Day in 54). It was nice to get out of school every year on my birthday. We'll be the same age for 4 days! I still have a year to go. Looking forward to it!

Thats BS!.........not even a % for spouse and family? The VA is one institution that desperately needs a attitude adjustment. So much for taking care of those of us who served.
Another words I'm to busy screwing off with my fellow officers to give you time to deal with your punny problem, you low life two striper. My favorite one is have you used the chain of command? Why do you think I'm here you dipstick.
If you really want to get them to move, tell your sargent that your thinking about writing or calling your congressman or senator, because your tired of people dragging their feet. You may get a special mark on your personnel file, but who cares your getting out anyway.
I told my CO that I was fed up with the dragging of feet from the next command higher than ours and I was calling my state senator. Man you would not believe how fast people started moving whe you say that. It's called a congressional inquiree, it goes to the Marine Corps Head quarters where they have a special office that deals with them. Instead of you going up the chain of command, it comes down the chain of command, you know "**** rolls down hill". A lot of career fear happens when they get those from the top. Use it as a last resort when your fed up. Like I say if you mention that your going that route, it sometimes can gease the skids.
