A/C not working
I gotta buddy with an 02 7.3- his AC fan comes on, but the compressor itself does not. He also said that the battery light came on, so he measured the voltage and it was at 12.2v or so. I told him that he should look into getting a new alternator soon, as these units usually charge at about 13.5-14v. I don't think the diminished voltage would cause the AC not to kick in, but could that be the problem, or should we be looking for a bad wire or faulty switch somewhere?

I'd start by staring at the clutch to see if the compressor is engaged. Give it a tap with the handle of a screwdriver (AC turned on and truck running) to see if the clutch engages and things start to work. Might just need to remove the shims and get the air gap set properly.
