Low Power
so any ideas how to check to see if i have a plugged cat? the only place i see to unhook it is from the manifold...on each side...so i dont know how to tell which cat is acting up....also the two cats on each side r welded on. cant just swap them out.
At this point im thinking of taking it to a muffler shop to have it checked. Doesnt seem like i can do much more on that part.

From what I read from your discription of the high rpm's and nothing is happening, I too would be suspecting transmission. I take it, you haven't had your truck for very long, so don't have much to compare to. In my opinoin, if you had plugged or restricted exhaust, you wouldn't get the high rpm's.
I have had the truck for about a year...it was great when i first got it, but has slowly lost power...
u suspect the trans? that is why i asked if anyone has had a trans go out in their f150. Any description of what happens in this model when it goes out will help me know if i am experiencing the symptoms...
the trans is not slipping. i had the trans go out in three of my former cars throughout the years, but this is the first f150 i have had...what i experienced in those vehicles is not happening now, so i am confused about if it is the trans.
