Thumbs up

Very Cool. Someday I want to do something similar when I have
more practice, skills, talent, patience, and money.

Why weld the column to the socket? That sort of defeats the purpose of the swivel socket.

Ididit makes a tilt specifically for the ford 67 to 72 dash mounts.?

kenselvy,
I also like the brush look I was thinking of powder coating it clear.

marks69,
Thanks! yeah it's a ididit column universal.

garbz2,
The socket is not welded to the column, I welded a piece of tube to the column cause
the socket has a 2 1/4 opening and the column is 2" round. I did this cause the socket was free so I just had to have it on there one way or another.

i love mine. only problem is if it starts to squeal you have to push the bottom black plastic seal back in. and i never got around to re-wiring the horn, so if i hit it i get a shock.lol
i need to get ahold of ezeewire and get the instructions to change that over.

So the black plastic seal is a dust shield?
That's funny instead of a horn sound you get shocked! yeah i'd get that fixed asap!

Should the column be grounded , the stock coupling or rag joint is grounded from 1 side of rag to the other side on the stock set up , just curious ? With the horn and ts switch you would think you would need a ground strap from the column to the firewall ?

Ken, Grounding is important for horn function, so I vote yes.

Is there a socket made for to fit that column. I have the same one sitting in the garage. I also have the 94 Stang joint for the Panther front suspension, the DD shaft, and column cupler. I wasnt sure how I was going to get it mounted through the fire wall and this is the answer!! Looks like I can have a clean install after all!!

Marz, looks kewl to me brother.....the sleeve thing works... I assume it was layin around.

I did mine with spare crap laying around. I wanted a stock column and wheel for the build, but people to look three times before they realize that it is a 65 to 72 column in there in a 63....I did some custom dash rework to get it all to work.

Keep up the good work and see you at the Western Nats in June.

my truck has been rewired and has a 5 pin relay for the horn, the column came with a 3pin on that needs to be used. the column is grounded to the dash, but i still need to swap the relay over.
