I believe these trucks came with a NP-435 as the standard 4 speed. If nothing else availability would be better for the NP-435 therefore keeping your cost down.

I plan on using it in a dual capacity Hotrod since I am restoring it and leaving it at 2WD but i still want to be able to pull a good load when i need it. So I am looking to install a 302 cid will the Warner T-10 mate well to this motor.

The first gear that Mike is talking about is commonly called a "Granny Gear". You had mentioned that you still want to be able to haul a good size load, well the NP-435 will definately do that.
