won't start

I just had the nh state inspection performed on my Ford 2008, F-250 super duty V8 Diesel. The mechanic backed in out of the bay and turned the truck off. When I went to start it, it wouldn't turn over. Nothing at all happened. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may have gone wrong?

Does anything work when you turn the key on?

Lights?
Radio?
Horn?
