Trailer lights

I just bought a 2001 f250 crew cab short box with the 5.4 engine. It's a really nice truck but I just noticed the trailer lights do not work. I have checked for power at the trailer plug on both sides, then in the junction next to the spare tire and still no power. I tried to follow the wires to the engine and that got me to the inner fender below the brake fluid. There seems to be about 4 different connections on the inner fender. Does anyone know which one is the connector for the trailer lights? All other lights on the truck for just fine. Also, is there something else to check, such as a fuse?

I am pretty sure there are seperate fuses for trailer lights
check in the fuse box that is under the hood. I know thats where they are on my 07.

There are seperate fuses for all of the trailer functions. Depending on the year, they are either in the under hood fuse box, or the Central Junction box under the dash.

Download your owner's manual and look in the fuses section.
