i meant by what are you using for sealant is for the one who did not buy the plug from riff raff. i bought the plug from the autoparts store. or is the rubber ring that comes with it suffcient. nothing needed on the threads?
Ok, help me out here also please because these are my first mods. Yesterday I did the 6637 intake and today I'm planning to do the aih delete (bought both from riffraff). I bought the tapered plug but don't have any gauges. Can I still use this plug and reconnect everything back up to it or should I get the solid plug until I am ready for more mods?

Ok so I know that the AIH plug gets rid of the heater and lets more air in....so does that mean you get a little bit more performace out of the motor? if so how much maybe?( I probably answered my own question but I thought I would ask)
I also live in Upstate NY and we get some cold winters here....would I need the AIH for the winter?

You will never miss it. cold here in Colorado and the truck never used it.
From what I've read and seen, the AIH is only there to lower the amount of white smoke you see on very cold morning and under limited conditions. Does not affect the engine performance at all, only cleans up the startup exhaust a little. As far a engine gains, I has to allow for smoother air flow, but don't think anyone has ever tested for actual if any gains. I just like the fact it was a really good place to hook up my boost line.
Ok,one more question on this. I did the aih delete and removed the wires completely. However, the first time I went to start the truck it cranked maybe 10 times and did not start. I cranked it again maybe 8 times and it started. Since then it cranks more slowly than before the aih delete and also takes longer to start. Is this typical?

Your AIH delete wouldn't affect start up at all. It would be something else going on or maybe something that you accidently disconnected. Did you mess with the GPR at all?
No it's not. The AIH shouldn't have anything to do with cranking the truck. Curious, what's the temp where you are? Sounds to me more like a Glow Plug Relay issue.
You'll have to forgive my ignorance, still fairly new to all this tinkering. I pulled 2 wires from my aih, one went to a solenoid at the top of the engine and the other went elsewhere. I completely pulled the wire lead to the solenoid and taped the other back because I ran out of time to chase it back. I'm in Indy so the temp has been pretty warm for last couple of weeks. Thanks in advance.
