'77 Shoulder belts were standard.
'76-Down they were an option.
I actually prefer lap belts myself, My '76 Has lapbelts and their cool!
Any chance you recall the part number for the anchor plates?

I think your correct about the shoulder belts becoming standard for 1976 trucks. They have cut outs in the inner b-pillars with retractor mounting brackets welded in place. My Dads 79 has this set up. It didn't look like an easy add on for my 74 F100. Plus I want to keep my truck close to stock. My 74 just came with the lap belts. They are the old style seat belts Ford was using in the 60s. My 74 owner's manual shows optional shoulder belts. They are non retracting, you just fold they and plug they into a boot at the top when not in use. They use the same type of buckels as the lap belts. I just installed them today in my truck and I used the picture in the owner's manual as my location guide. I'm happy with them. I bought the shoulder belts on ebay and bought new anchor plates from National Parts Depot. Thanks for the help.
