Guys,
I just converted my 67 F100 2WD to power steering using a 76 77 steering column. My problem is the plugs are different mine has one plug with 6 connectors and another with 2. The column has all 8 on it. I'm not good with wiring so can anyone tell me which wires to connect to get my signals working?
Thanks in advance,
Keith
pretty much its color to color match up on the wiring what i found out is different is if its an auto there is a wire for the light in display .and there is a white wire with red stripe this one connects to the emergency flasher if you use the on on column instead of the factory one. Also if you have a Bendix steering box the column is longer then the newer column.
bmuhlbach,
I really appreciate it Bro, I have the ford gear box. I've read too much bad about the bendix so would not get it. I'm gonna try to get finished with work early today and give this a shot. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I did find something yesterday that broke my heart. I didn't realize my heater core is leaking really slow and not sure how long it has been. I have read here about antifreeze eating through steel this is true. I noticed my carpet looked funny on the passenger side yesterday and it had ate a whole the size of a football right through my passenger side floor board. now I have to get a new floor pan and weld her in. It killed me, I've had my old truck for 10 years and love it. I think it would have bothered me less if I had wrecked my 97 cheby I just gave my 15 year old.
