Well my mechanical fuel pump hit the dust today and it pisses diesel where ever I let it idle. So I am going to do a electric fuel pump conversion. Now I have read the thread.
(In case you don't know what I am talking about)
Well it has me lost. The parts list helps, but I am lost. I want to explain it out how I understand it best. I would find the from fuel tanks line (After the nice little tank selector) and put the fuel pump and my filter(s) after the fuel pump, then connect it back to the fuel line that leads up to the valley of the engine. Then I would take the fuel line off the old mechanical pump, run a line up to the front where I would mount my fuel regulator, then from my fuel regulator I would Y the line off (Also add in my fuel pressure sender) to each head, then from there I am lost. Please help guys, I want to get this all planned out, and written up so I have myself some instructions. Then hopefully (I have a bad habbit of neve taking pictures) I would plan on taking pictures of the process so we have a good DIY article on how to do it. Hope to get some good help. I appreciate you guys taking your time and helping me.
Id say you got it too. And there are alot of other threads that have pictures and writeups too so that should help you out as well. Although that one your following is pretty darn good. Im just saying some more pictures might help piece it together. I am very visual, so that usually helps me the most.
PSN site has a nice write up under 94-97 aftermarket & performance electric fuel system conversion by Tom S. lots of photos & directions. This is the version I'm looking to do when I do it.
Okay I will go voe to PSN, but after I send the lines to the heads do I have to add in some return lines? What do I do after that. Thanks guys for the chime in.
Is this the article you guys are talking about? And I want to do a inline filter not big old filters. Can someone give me the specs for out filters? Also what kind of sensor would I need for a 'restriction' light setup.
