still don't think it's factory, but i could be wrong. have you tried to follow the wires and see where or what they go to?

You could look to see what kinda screws are holdin' the plate those switches are on to the underside of the dash. If they're real pointy or have a drill tip on the end, I would almost gay-roan-tee you that ain't stock. Don't look like anything I've seen on anything before. Looks like either aftermarket or homemade. Those switches I could pick up at home depot or any electrical supply house.

Yeah that is 100% NOT factory.
They probably turned some lights or something on or off, at some point, Hence the little red lights, I would think that when the red light was on it meant whatever the switch does is on and working.
Your post say's F-100, But your signature say's F-150. It's a F-150. The F-150 was first introduced in '75 to get around the smog requirements of that year as the "Heavy Half Ton". The last F-100 was made in '84.
The Explorer package was a appearance orientated package on F-Series trucks from '68-'86. It consisted of a Stripe along the side of the truck, and depending upon the year of Explorer, on the Hood. No two years of Explorer's are the same, it was a seasonal package offered in the Spring, If I remember Correctly. The Explorer Package also included a really cool plaid seat.
Looking at your '76 it's very good condition and has several cool features, such as the factory Cab Lights' which my truck aslo has. Which, were an opption on '73-'79 F-100 - F-350s.
The Explorer Package was available on F-100, F-150, F-250, some F-350s and on two wheel drives and four wheel drives.
Post the VIN of your truck up and I'll decode it and tell you the Month it was built, the assembly plant it was built at, the orginal engine, and Transmission.
Your Runnin' a 390 FE and a C-6 3 speed Automatic Transmission.
Very Good combination, I also have a 390 FE, But mine was swapped in and has special work done to it. I myself perfer 4-Speeds, But what ever floats your boat Brother.
It's good to see the younger kids in my generation being interested in the best and last years of trucks ever made.
My friend lives in Montana, about 10 miles from Kalispell.
I'm 15 almost 16 by the way.
