Looking for a good priced chip or computer that doesnt require a computer and wont destroy my truck anything i find is shot down by friends for one reason or another. I have a stock tranny still and dont want to have to replace it any time soon. Would like something with fuel milage, towing, city, and highway like i had in my gas truck.
You want good priced like "cheap" or good priced like "worth every penny"?
You don't want to destroy your truck and you want better economy. Well, you can get both of those "cheap" on ebay for $40 in the form of an injection control pressure fooling device.
You want better towing performance and something that works really well for daily driving. Get ANY kind of programmer or chip that your heart desires. DP-Tuner, Power Hungry Performance, Tony Wildman, Beans, Swamps, Truck Source Diesel, Gearhead Automotive Performance, Diesel Innovations, et. al.
Do a search (you'll be here all day reading about this stuff) and make an informed decision.
Chips are what you eat with salsa What you want is a tuner. And not an off the shelf setup like an Edge, Bullydog, or Superchips. You want a custom burned tuner from a reputable company like those cleatus listed.
Im not very technically advanced thats why I am just trying to get an idea on a very user friendly one and Ive been searching the forum and it became overwhelming.
I have a 85 hp custom tow tuner made by Bullydog. It's been in my truck since before I bought it used, in 2004 from a diesel mechanic. It worked good for him evidently, and it worked good for me the last 6 years. I just put a DPTuner F6 in my truck. I'll sell the Bullydog for 100.00 to a FTE member. I also have a grey 3 pod a pillar mount. I'll take 35.00 for that.
