hello, i am new to the site and new to my x. i have a 2000 v10 xlt. from what i have been reading on the threads about the spring upgrades i am confident i want to go with the v codes in the front. My question on this is, does this upgrade effect the tracking bar at all, will i need a drop bracket for this? as for the rear i believe i want to go with either the b codes, modded b codes . from what i have seen the reg b codes need the f350 tapered block and the modded does not? is this right? i also need to install a rear sway bar, is the hellwig the good one to use? i am only towing a 21ft boat so the tongue weight is not that much. any input would be great, just looking for a better ride and a safer one, thanks!!

No it does not. No you will not.
from what i have seen the reg b codes need the f350 tapered block and the modded does not? is this right?
There is a two-fold reason to use the tapered block.
1. It's bring the rear up so the front is a tad lower than the rear. Some people found the front was just a hair higher than the rear, after the B codes were installed and the stock block was used, so the tapered block was swapped in to bring the rear up higher while still being mindful of the pinion angle.
2. The tapered block is to keep the pinion angle within the optimum range. Some have reused the stock block only to find driveline vibrations were now an issue. An issue that was resolved when the tapered block was swapped in.
Now, that doesn't mean you HAVE to use the tapered block. There are lots of people out there who have the modded B's and the stock block, as well as the tapered block, and they have no issues at all.
i also need to install a rear sway bar, is the hellwig the good one to use?
Hellwig seems to be the most common choice. Another choice is the stock setup. But you'd have to source the parts from a junkyard or purchase new from the dealership.
The Hellwig is much cheaper than brand new from the dealership.

PS - Just gotta make sure, your Ex is a 4x4, right?
thank you for the input Stewart, and yes my x is a 4x4. i guess i will install the v codes up front and the sway bar in the rear and see how it rides. i do need new tires due to the fact i do have some vibration at 65mph. i road forced my tires and found two of them to be at 45lbs. its a shame because they have only 6k miles on them but i want larger ones anyway. the truck only has 39k on it. so hopefully after that and the suspension upgrades it will handle alot better.
