Anyone experience a slow shift first thing in the morning? The RPM's will come up to about 3,000 and it seems like it just isn't ready to shift yet. We are in Southern California, so it's not that cold in the morning. The report from my driver is that the 2006 F-450 6.0L 117K miles is slow to shift from 1-2, 2-3 if the truck hasn't warmed up for about 10-15 minutes. Apparently it's been happening for "awhile" and he's just now elected to say something about it.....Any ideas would help. -thanks
Was it hot flushed and the external filter changed and was either mercon SP or LV used. If any other fluid was used that is an excellent place to start.
It was serviced by our local Ford Fleet Center, I'm assuming they put the right fluid in it.......hmmm assuming!!! Moving on, it's been happening prior to the last tranny service although, my driver just decided to tell me about it. I'm thinking it might have something to do with an O-Ring or Valve body internally.
My truck (06 F-350) has been doing the same, seems the most common is the FICM. As far as reflashes, how often should we take in our trucks to have that updated.
We actually figured out the problem we had with the slow shift when cold in the morning. It turned out to be clogged injectors. We had all of them replaced last Feb. and just replaced another one this week......so frustrating.
How did you narrow it down to which two to replace?
Had to take it to the dealer to get the codes read. I have a edge insight and another code reader. Both did not show any codes. There also was no check engine light on.
