V10 NO START

99 SD, reg cab, 4x4, manual, xlt pkg, 173,000 miles. This is a company truck that my supt. drives. He just went to a jobsite pulling a trailer. Called me and reported the truck will crank but not start. Haven't had this problem before. He is checking fuel pressure at the schrader valve and going to disconnect battery and reset computer. My gut feel is fuel pump. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Depending on maintenance history, could be pcb, fuel filter, injectors, or fuel pump. Gotta do the spark plug fire routine and then fuel. Could even be a plugged air induction. Computer malfuction...???

If it's got pressure at the fuel valve, the pump is good. But pappy is right, gotta run it down logically. Just for the sake of example, I once had a chevy truck with a bazzilion miles on it. It ran fine, but one day out of the blue, it refused to start for the trip home from work. A quick check revealed the plugs were worn beyond belief. Why did it start just fine in the morning? Who knows? But if by chance your bosses ride still has it's original plugs, it might be a place to start looking.

Just to close out the post, new fuel pump solved the problem. The pump read open with an ohm meter.
