Getting in the market....

Hey Y'all!

I have an F-150 '05 that I love, but I am needing some more towing power! I'd LOVE to get a 2011 when they hit the floor, but I'm needing it now, and I'm a little nervous about getting a first year model, you know?

So I was looking at like 98-02, with the 7.3, hearing all the horror stories about the 6.0 and the 6.4, but I figure that Ford wouldn't have run them for nearly ten years if they were ALL bad. So I'm looking for suggestions and tips to keep me from buying a new to me truck and getting burned with having to put new heads, radiators, turbos, injectors, etc. I know that that is all part of life, but it's a part that I'd like to avoid just as well, you know?

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks y'all!

the best bang for your buck would be a 99 to 03 7.3 there are a few lo milage ones out there. i have had 2 6.0 trucks ( 04 & 05) and have had no problem with either truck. just be a smart buyer, take some one with you that knows the trucks well.
