what rearend?

what rearend?

i have a 1996 ford ranger 4x4 ex cab 5 speed 3.0. i need to find out what rearend i got in there not sure if its 7.5 or 8.8 can anyone help out? im looking to replace either the rearend or replace the gears.

Read the tag on the back of the rear end it will give you the information you are looking for. Also if you regear or replace the rear end it needs to be the same gear ratio as the front.

it should be a 7.5 and probably has 3.73 gearing.
