I want to buy a set of chrome valve cover from edelbrock but i don't know if they were clear the roller rocker ?
I use a rocker arm stud conversion kit from crane cams and roller rocker 1.7 from chevy but also fit the 400. The valve cover are the stock height.
I don't know about the Edelbrock covers, but I know that Ford Racing has a set that will clear the roller rockers. I got those, but I also knew there would be a different issue after that. Due to the taller covers, the width of the engine increased overall, and the original brake booster would no longer clear. So, I went to the 9" dual diaphragm booster that were in the 79 F350's, and will have to replumb the lines to allow it. With the 9" dual diaphragm booster, versus the 11" single diaphragm, I now have a whopping 1/2" of clearance.
With taller valve covers, you will very probably have clearance issues on your brake booster. An old school trick to get around this is to get a set of standard valve covers, and to remove the baffles inside of them to allow for more rocker clearance. The downside is that your breather will be soaked in oil in no time, but you won't have to reconfigure your brakes like I am. But then, I'm reconfiguring everything on this truck, so what the hey.
