Gutted Cat

Got a stock 97 F250 4x4 with 5.8 We just gutted the cat and I am wont be able to drive it for a day or two. Can someone tell me will I see noticable increase in power? Sure sounded a lot better when it was fired up.... Amazing how much junk and crud is in those things....

If it was clogged, then yes you will probably notice a difference.

You will see an increase regardless because there is no more restriction in the system. How great it is will vary.

Best to just remove cat and straight pipe it, hollowed out cat provides a expansion chamber that disrupts exhaust flow. Better performance will come from a straight pipe.

Only if you have an O2 sensor downstream from the cat. In my 97 there is only one and its upstream from it...
