Couple of questions, just doing a few simple bolt on upgrades for the first time. I pulled off the old 2V intake manifold, carb and valley pan from the 351M:
when replacing the new valley pan, do I put an RTV type sealant under the pan where it lays against the intake ports on the heads? What about on top (ie both sides?)
Laying the new intake (Weiand) down into the valley, on top of the new valley pan, I have (new) intake manifold gaskets-do I put RTV on both sides of the intake manifold gaskets, or do they go on dry?
when torqueing down the intake manifold, how many foot pounds of torque to apply?
Any other tips appreciated, first time I'm doing this, don't want to over apply sealant. Is there a universal sealant I could use for everything? Like "red" high temp RTV? Next is to figure out what all the threaded holes are for on the new intake. New Holley 600 will sit on top.
