engine tuners

has anyone used a computer reprogrammer to get better milage? if so what kind?

I have not tried a programmer but there are a lot out there to choose from. Try this thread from another site. It may help.

Are the tuners as effective on the 99 and up Navigators with the DOHV (32 valve) engine?

I suspect that you can tune any motor. I have seen these things used on 4 cylinder engines and even motorcycles. The key is finding one that does everything you want for a good price. Just remember that you need to up the preventive maintenance if you are working the engine and transmission harder.

I'm not sure if Power Hungry Performance - Phoenix Multi-Position Chips would work or not, but you could post a question on their forum.

i use and xcal 2. can't speak for mileage though. last tank was 7mpg.
