Unhappy I need help guys

I have a Ford F-250 Heavy duty V-8 460 2wd 1997 truck and the front tire on the passanger side is starting to act stupid. the top is staying the same and the bottom of the tire is moving farther out away from the wheel well and i dont know how to tell if its the ball joints or tire rods or what?

any help is appreciated thanks

ball joints would be your verticle adjustment (i.e. top of tire in bottom of tire out, or vice versa) where as tie rods would be a horizontal change. so the way you say it is, it would not be tie rods, also aside from ball joints it could be a wheel bearing going bad (in strange cases loose lugnuts too) lugnuts are easy to check. to check the wheel bearing / tie rod / ball joints jack up the front tire just an inch or 2 off the ground and by hand and using a prybar check them by hand taking your tire grabbing either side and try shaking/twisting, excessive play is tie rods, now take the pry bar and stick it about halfway under the tire and pull up on it several times, once again excessive play is ball joints / wheel bearing. if it has play both ways i would lean to say its a wheel bearing. hope it helps
