Need INtake/water pump help

On the intake right next to the thermostat housing is that small pipe/fitting that connects to the water pump with a short heater hose. Well my intake is missing that pipe. It appears that it is NOT tapped. So that brings up my question of is it supposed to be? and What is that thingy called that i can find one? lol Also if its not tapped i would guess its pressed in and that brings up the question of how much of a pain is that to do? Thats the only thing keeping me from filling it up with water and breaking it in.
After thinking about it i guess i could measure it and tap it for an aftermarket fitting but I'm waiting for some advice first. Thanks
Andy
Pipe goes by Inside Diameter, so a 3/8 pipe tap actually looks more than 1/2 in diameter.
You won't be able to flare the pipe end, but the hose can't go anywhere due to the water-pump, so it shouldn't be a worry.
Look around the plumbing section....there may be fittings that will work...galvanized, brass, etc., probably with barbed ends. I don't think the differeence in metals will cause any serious electrolytic corrosion problems. Most aluminum intakes use a steel tube, and although being a "no-no", nothing seems to happen to them.
