Well I need help. My 95 F150, has the factory tow package which came with the round plug in, the 8 prong type, and I know the previous owner had a trailer brake in it (Tell by the holes under the dash) and I was wondering where the factory plug is for the brake controller and whats a good cheap controller. I am not using a big trailer, just... well it would be way easier on me with a controller. I want to get a good controller that can control just 2 axles. Also I was looking under my dash and I seen a bare plug looked like a 6 plug (2 rows of 3) and it had 4 wires to it (If I remember right) But yeah, I appreciate the help. MayI add the is a Eddie Bauer F150 so it has EVERYTHING.
the brown wire idk what it is for but the rest is what you need to hook up trailer brake controller. I use the drawtite activator II hasnt let me down yet!!
i like my tekonsha prodigy p3...about $100 on eBay, plus the plug. if u have factory tow package all u have to do is plug it in. and then hope ur trailer's not stupid like mine with brake issues that make the controller go haywire and short out on the highway with a 6k load...
Lol well the trailer I use I check it every time before I use it. Plus the wiring is new and I wired it so I am really confident I wont have any 'Oh ****' moments. And I will look into that , thanks Miss.

my sis and i have a double-checking system whenever we tow that everything is looked at twice and we criss-cross so we each see it all...she's a great co-pilot and it all checked out when we left...just quit on the highway halfway there. towing with daddy's expy...not cool. that thing damn near cannot stop a loaded trailer without brakes.

i hear you there. my old gooseneck made my truck go haywire out on the interstate. my dashboard was like a freaking light show. abs then check engine then the brake then abs and brake, then water sep, and the list goes on. i didnt know what to do. so i unpluged it to get home and got pulled over three times. i even pluged it back in to show a cop and he still wrote me a ticket. all new wiring the next day!!! i like my led's now so it all worked out good.
