I admire the police for not shooting the dog also but I would have a hard time resisting if I were in that situation. Who knows whether or not if a dog is aggressive towards humans when they do something like this.
The owner should be liable for all costs from the result of this incident and should provide a better containment area for that dog. What if it had bit a human?
Even though she says the dog is not aggressive towards people.......you still can't trust them. At least that's my opinion.

Well, the part isn't that expensive, so figure under $500 if they have any kind of deal with the body shop. You could let the dogs tear the cover off every patrol car in the state cheaper than the p-ing contest that would come after popping the pooch.

That's TN for ya. I moved to TN a few months ago and it amazes me how many people just let their dogs roam the neighborhood. People who want to take walks around my neighborhood have to take sticks with them to ward off the dogs. I'm a city boy and not use to that. Where I come from a roaming dog gets picked up in no time by the catcher.
