first road test...ended up with brake problems
so i took the 74 on the road for the first time, finally got it legal enough...truck ran decent but the brakes were terrible. there was pretty much no pedal unless i pumped them a good bit. then after that stopping power wasnt to great. i noticed one time that it made a hissing noise and somewhere by the transfer case some brake fluid came out but it only did that once????? then on the way home it appeared that the front passenger brake locked up. truck didnt pull to bad but it didnt really want to go. after a few miles you could smell it burning and when i pulled over it was smoking from the passenger wheel and was VERY hot.
Any ideas on whats wrong or where to start??

Is the master cylinder still full ? Does it have drums in the front or disc ? If you are having to pump the brakes the master cylinder may be bad or maby it has air in the system somewhere. I'd look the lines and hoses over closely for leaks. A bad brake hose can cause a brake to lock up.
